Oreo Truffles

Uni is finally and officially done and over! YAY 😀 for this semester anyways…

Found an awesome new job and in my one free day what seems like a good idea you ask? Baking of course!

HOWEVER… you kind of lose interest in turning the oven on, more for fear of roasting alive in the house when it’s over 41°C outside, and all you wish for is air con or a swimming pool or just cold rain. None of these things happened so kinda have to go along with it.

Instead of baking with the oven I opted for making some nice truffles=no oven but only some minimal stove usage 😉

INGREDIENTS:

500 gr oreo cookies (hell yes!)

250 gr cream cheese

375 gr (1 pack) of white chocolate buttons

200 gr dark chocolate (to decorate)

Smash all the oreos in a zip lock bag and then transfer them in a bowl (I didn’t have a blender so I had to crumb them by hand and it was LONG) try making more crumbs rather than chunks.

Time to get your hands dirty! Pour all the cream cheese in the bowl and combine with the crumbs, by hand if you don’t have a blender, as evenly as possible and make small balls. I managed to make 40-50. Place them on a tray and keep in the fridge for at least an hour.

Melt the white chocolate chips Bagnomaria (in a metal bowl placed in or over a pan of boiling water, low flame). One by one drop the oreo mix in the white chocolate. Make sure you cover it evenly and then with a fork scoop it out and let the excess chocolate drip off the side.

Once again place on a tray.

Whilst they solidify, melt the dark chocolate. I tried piping cute little patterns but the chocolate was either too hot or had hardened too quickly and decided to just get a fork and swish the chocolate on the oreo truffles.

So there you go! 🙂

Ciao for now! xx
