One more day to go. I did promise myself not to bake anything before the exam, but oh well…
1 cup sugar
2tbsp sour cream
1tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
1/4 cup cocoa powder
icing sugar for dusting
Turn oven 180°.
Grease a cake tin (I used a small round one) with canola spray.
Beat the butter and the sugar till combined. Add the eggs and mix well. Add the flour, baking powder and salt. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula incorporating all the ingredients evenly. Separate the batter in two bowls. In the second bowl, add the cocoa powder.
What I did here was put the white batter on one side of the tin and then the chocolate on the other, splitting the tin in half. Then layered the chocolate on the first white layer and the white on the chocolate and so on.
As a finishing touch, with a knife, I made circles in the batter to mix the colour inside to give it the marble effect. I’ve never done this before so hopefully I will achieve what I set out to do. 🙂
Always with the knife I levelled the batter and then put the cake in the oven for 40-60mins.
